We ARE sustainable!

Since the beginning, everything we do has an intrinsic characteristic: to be sustainable. Beginning at our business’ core activity: the generation of clean, 100% renewable and accessible energy, going over every activity in our daily routine, up to our relationship with each other, with our clients, our shareholders, our suppliers and the surrounding communities. For us, sustainability is understanding that we are connected, and our actions influence our entire stakeholder network. We believe that being sustainable is only possible if we generate value to all, achieving results that are sustainable, provide feedback, multiply and perpetuate.

Sustainable Development Goals

In 2019, Omega Geração’s Social and Environmental Policy came into effect, which was an important milestone for the Company. Through the Policy we ensure the strengthening of our environmental management in a multidisciplinary manner and ensure the alignment of all internal activities with our purpose, which is generating 100% renewable sustainable energy. The environmental, social and financial performance in 2019 is detailed in the new issue of Omega Geração’s Sustainability Report. The Report follows the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) – Core Option and includes the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Omega Geração acts in line, direct or indirectly, with 14 out of the 17 global goals set forth by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our Social Commitment

In line with our mission, at Omega Geração we strive to be good neighbors and we seek to establish a positive relationship with the neighboring communities, effectively contributing to the socio-economic development of those regions. In 2019, we invested over R$4.1 million in education and income generation through Janela para o Mundo, our umbrella program that encompasses all the Company’s voluntary social initiatives.

Our Environmental Commitment

2019 was a milestone in the history of sustainable management at Omega Geração, as the Social and Environmental Policy came into effect. Through the Policy we ensure the strengthening of our environmental management in a multidisciplinary manner and ensure the alignment of all internal activities with our purpose, which is generating 100% clean and renewable sustainable energy. The low carbon energy we produce helps to mitigate the effects of climate change on our planet. As a result of our operation, in 2019 our operations avoided the emission of 289.1 Kilotons of CO2.
